Sol Duc Spey

Another conversion. I hope Syd Glasso would have approved.

HOOK:Nickle plated AJ #1.5

TAG:medium embossed silver

TAIL:GP crest

BUTTrange ostrich herl

BODY:1/2 orange seal, ribbed oval silver, hackled yellow schlappen- 1/2 orange floss, ribbed flat silver, hackled imitation heron belly dyed yellow(yellow center, black tipped)

THROAT:black schlappen(black dyed mallard might be better)

WING:hot orange goose

These dee conversion are in a word, awesome. Your work clearly puts you among the best tyers of today. Thanks for sharing them with the membership so that all can see what well-proportioned, well-tied dees look like. Glasso would probably be honored to have his fly converted to a dee style.

I to would be interested in the pattern. It looks like it has some of that tip died spey hackle in it that you are becoming well known for.
