Epoxy sand eels

Epoxy sand eel:
Hook: Mustad 34007 Size 1
Thread: Mono
Tail: White bucktail, pearl krystal flash, olive bucktail, peacock herl
Body: Pearl Bill's Bodi Braid
Eye: Witchcraft tape eyes 2mm silver

Here is an epoxy sand eel pattern I find effective. I'm sure there has been hundreds of sand eels tied similar to this but this just happens to be the way I tie it. Friends of mine have caught bonito and FA at Martha's Vineyard on them but I haven't had the opportunity to chase those fish and give it a try myself yet there.

Very nice. As an aside, whenever I come up with a pattern at the vise, I often think it's worthless to give it some name or say that I developed it since it seems that much of what I do has already been done by someone somewhere. Who cares though, as long as it catches fish!

Good job. They look edible. One caveat regarding epoxy. With sunlight and age, 5-minute epoxy does yellow. For longevity, omit sunlight and use 30-minute epoxy.

Great looking flies, but for reason, when I first looked at the them, I got hungry. Now, what does that say about me?
