Sean, Dave, Gregg and Mike -

I'll bet you guys feel like I do today. I have a really unique feeling... not just pride, that's too lame of a word for what I feel. Bring on the kryptonite!

Why do I feel so good? We do a lot of things in a year, some of them are priceless but in all honesty to give the majority of them words I would choose: obligatory, self-indulgent, meaningless, repetitive. Few have any real impact on ourselves or on others. Big Brother day is not one of those days, in fact this day is always important, inspiring, unforgettable, meaningful, elightening.

It shows a special level of dedication to the true meaning of the FORUM to do what we did. We should take a little pride in the fact that we took the time to care about one of the most inspiring organizations in all of human kind, the Big Brother Assoc. This day says to me that we are more than just a group of fishermen getting excited about a sport - it says we are good people who also fish.

Yep, we should let ourselves be a little proud but not nearly proud as the Big Brothers, they do this all year long. And Heather, who makes the whole thing go like clockwork and if anyone hasn't noticed is inspiration personified.

Captain Keith and the Rip Ryder crew - we are once again indebted for your generous contribution to the kids, you guys are the BEST. Thanks for getting us over for a short fling on the flats afterward, Sean, Dave and I had some action to close the day out there.

To everyone at the Monomoy Refuge I am sure the kids experience was greatly enhanced by your tour. It was a team effort, despite a poor showing from our side we pulled it off by going with spin rods for safety and taking 4-6 people per forum member.

To all the kids - thanks for this wonderful feeling and I look forward to seeing you again next year.

A wonderful time as usual! Thanks to the bigs and littles for letting us share our passion and thanks to the fellow forum members who made it work.

Aside from working on greater participation from our end I would like to suggest in the strongest terms possible that we have more time for the fishing part of the event. One hour just doesn't cut it. I think three hours would be a perfect balance between too much of a good thing and enough to have a serious chance of getting the kids "hooked-up".

Good feedback Gregg!

In a chat with Heather we talked about potentially getting the group site (very very nice campsite) on Nickerson for an overnight the night before, doing all the boot camp there.

Then we could hit the beach very early the next morning and get at least four hours of fishing before lunch break and the wildlife tour.

The BBA has strict requirements on overnights, which might complicate this plan but we will continue to look at more options. Another option would be to start with a morning nature tour, then lunch - then fish from 1pm to 4:30.

Thanks to you and Mike for holding the fort with us yesterday bro.

Juro

Juro and crew-

What a magical day! I have received feedback from several matches who had a fabulous time and are already looking forward to next year!

Thank you each for your generosity. We could not have pulled it off without your help, time, energy and enthusiasm for fly fishing.

In a related plug, if anyone is interested in learning more about becoming a Big Brother- we are always looking! I can attest from personal experience that it is a very rewarding- sometimes challenging!- experience. I would be happy to talk to anyone interested, full tilt or marginally, in learning more.

Thank you again for everything. It was- and will continue to be- a tremendous opportunity for our Littles to attend.
Juro- you are the best; thanks for all your extra behind the scenes work!

Thank you!!
Heather
