Cabo Yak attack is a go

I just got clearance from ground-control so it looks like I'm headed down Cabo way to do Yak based battle with turbo-finned speedsters in the Sea of Cortez at the end of September. Yak fishing setup with Panga mothership support. The guy organizing the trip has had a couple of marlin hookups from the yak on conventional gear, one of which he landed! I will be loaded for bear (14wts and Billy Pate hardware).

Anyone got a kevlar vest I can borrow?

I planning to give the Atlantis a thorough shakedown too on Roosters and other surf based brutes.

Adrian,

That sounds ridiculous... I LOVE IT! Are you bringing inflatables or renting hard bodies I mean hard shells

Hope you get a big rooster on the fly from shore... ditto on the pictures!

Poly SOTs are part of the package - looks like they did a deal with Ocean Kayak.

Inflatables and billfish? now that's an intiguing combination Even with the plastic SOT, I thinking a pair of kevlar pants to go with the kevlar vest might be in order.

I was wondering if Penguin might have some military "surplus" mothballed at area 61:

Actually I'm totally psyched about this trip. I was last there in '98 and had a lot of fun with football yellowfins and spanish macks. The roosterfish drove us nuts. Its payback time! Sashimi on the water, fresh-fish ceviche and bucket-size margaritas .....
