Got to the beach about 6:00am. Dark clouds to the east and n'east resulted in turquoise flats and high vis. FAC and low tide. Walked down the beach a bit and started seeing swirls and tails. Continued to see this until I left at 8:00, just at the start of the best of the incoming, thinking I heard a rumble, but really looking for an excuse to leave. Must of had 20 or 30 fish in the 18 to 28" range. I normally have a short attention span after 6 or 7 schoolies but it's days like this that produce the biggest fish, so I hung in. Neat morning and I love those tails sticking outta the water.

Took the Rip Ryder to South Beach at 8 and fished in the clouds most of the morning. Hit the beach from 10-11 and flipped over as it appeared the sun was getting brighter with a general haziness. Around noon pockets of brilliant blue skies would appear yet you could not see North or South Monomoy due to large fog banks. It was very cool as the sun would go in an out for the next hour as fog banks moved through.
A pod of small fish and several individual fish spotted but not much more.
Clouds back hard from 1 to 3.
10 minutes before 4 PM I spotted hooked landed and released a nice 30 inch striper. A great day on the flats.

Pleasant Bay/Bayside

Fred, looked like ideal conditions today - rain and fog. Incoming on Pleasant Bay this a.m. produced one about 26. The water temp was 67, which may explain the absence of fish in an area that has been quite productive the last couple of weeks.

Went to a bayside creek on the outgoing in the afternoon. Lots of bait and lots of schoolies. The biggest was maybe 26-27. Outgoing early a.m. tomorrow could be productive.

Believe I'll take the Rip Ryder in the a.m. since sun is predicted in the p.m.
