Shadfreak strikes Shad paydirt

I went down to the river Thursday mostly to get some time on the water. I knew that there were some Shad around but that they were pretty scarce. When I arrived there were 6 others fishing with spinning rods. This spot is a bit small so I moved down river about 100 yards and set up were I could get a good drift. To make the story short I caught 10 nice fat females while the other 6 could only manage 3. At one point I heard one guy say that bas#### got another one what the hell is he using. He doesn't know the secret is just like sales & real estate. Location and presentation are everything.

Were these American shad that you were catching?

They've been here in the CT River for a while now, but unfortunately I've yet to cross paths with one this season.

They were Americans. I am fishing in Turners Falls, Ma about 125 miles from the mouth of the Connecticut River. Then came the rain and blew the river out. If it does not stop soon there won't be ant more Shad caught by me this year.
