sato fly material

Does any one know what the name of the material in satos herring or bunker flies? It has a taper like bucktail but appears to be a much finer or whispier material,I've asked around at the fly shops that carry the flies, but have not received a definite answer.

Polarfibre?

Paul, I'm not familiar with Satos' patterns. Can you elaborate? The material that comes to mind is Polarfibre that is a fine and tapered material attached to a "skin."

How are the bayside streams fishing? See ya on the water.

Doug the head of the flies I figured was crease fly foam, the rest of the material I wasn't sure of but I think your definitly right on the yak hair.I came across some yak hair the other day that was a foot and ahalf long and very straight and fine.I'll tie up some and report how it works out. Thanks Paul.
