ss, i have lots of questions which i am sure you can answer. first of all i can hardly wait for the fish to get here as i will have some of your flies tied. will a tmc 105 hook work, they are an egg hook heavy duty? do you use other colors of sparkle braid? do you use 6's or 8's more and why? i live 23 miles from ringold(columbia) and might run down in a couple of weeks or so after runoff, well maybe 2 months. thanks, mike

Splitshot, you must be up near the Canadian border -
awesome country up there. Have only used the 2457 hook
so far. Think if it is a short shank 2x bronze hook with some
curve it should work. With this particular pattern have only
tried light pink for the body so far. Generally, I stick with
the size 6 unless the water is really low and clear, then
will go with a size 8. Just a side note - I tried orange for
the Sharp Steelie a few times and never got a take with
it. The same days went back to the light pink and olive
green and got a lot of action. The orange is now in the
recycling bin! Going to try some other colors this summer
to see what happens (pearl/blue etc). Part of the fun
is to always experiment.
