Flyfishing haiku

The sun climbs higher
Shadows lengthen on the flat
Stripers streak away
---

Water wolves prowling
Gaudy fly stripped rapidly
Pike just can't resist
---

Bronzeback jumping clear
Deer hair and hook cannot hold
Free to fight again
---

Little torpedos
Busting bait too far away
But drifting closer
---

Others? (Three lines, 5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables)

As you can see, I'm super busy today.

Crawling on the sand,
the ghostly bones are tailing,
my cast lands softly.

Lift, sweep the d-loop,
wait for the anchor to kiss,
the line flies with grace.

Going out for dinner,
I have ruined my dress shoes,
a blitz made me stop.

Casts searching the waves,
big thump, the reel starts to sing -
a season has begun.

Trees shade the stream
Fish slurp bugs with abandon
Darn it ... Caught the tree

Particularly relevant today...

The clock ticks slowly
A great fishing trip awaits
Get me outta here!

Anticipation

A couple relevant for me...

My new home awaits,
Aside the cove it resides,
Anticipation

My first bone awaits
But it does not know it yet
Anticipation

Ah, Sean....that's not haiku. And if you're supposed to be doing homework, why are you surfing this site? :hehe:

Here's another, post-weekend trip....

Shredded fingers hurt
Leaders frayed, flies torn apart
Next time: Boga Grip

Sitting at the bench
5/0 hook in my 'cuda
Dreaming of Stripers

Missing a saddle
Digging through the cluttered bin
Cat is in deep $***

Standing on the bank
Birds plunging like living darts
Whoops! "Chicken" dinner.

j/k
