Trip plans?

Let's hear about any extended fishing trips that you all will be taking this year. So far I have:

Pike fishing Lake Ontario in early May
Smallmouth fishing Lake Winnepesaukee in late May
Pike fishing in Alberta in early June
A trip or two to the Cape over the summer
50/50 chance of sight fishing for redfish in Lousiana in September

Of course I'd like to do more.

How about the rest of you?

If only I had more time, I'd be

heading out to even more places:

In a week it's rockfish and lings at Neah Bay

May is pike in Wisconsin

June is smallmouth on Erie and a trip to the east side of the state for smallies, walleyes and panfish

July is fishing for chinook, halibut and lings at Neah Bay and a "fun" trip to the tackle show at Las Vegas

August is a week in Alaska plus a week in Minnesota after smallies

September is three days in Louisiana for reds, trout and tuna plus the fly show in Denver, a three-day trip to the Columbia for walleyes, smallies and steelhead

October may be a trip to the NE surf scene

Somewhere in there is a trip to Arkansas for largemouth and spots

Unfortunately not all are flyfishing trips. Some gear will be used.

Looking at an extended trip (1st week of May) to some of Michigan's finest rivers. Either the Big Man. or some tucked away streams in the Upper Peninsula.

The UP streams can be sweet little gems, full of Steelhead in early May. They also have some great Brookie fishing up there, timing is the key.

You want to get there way after snow melt, they get 200" of snow per season there. Which can turn a gentle river into a torrent.

Abaco Bahamas for six days of guided fishing in two weeks!

After that is striper hunting for the rest of the summer in Rhody and on the Cape.

Well I have my four annuals! Nothing exotic...
One is done, Steelhead in WA with the "PNW & BC boys"
BC interior lakes, Kamloops area for Chironomids, sometime in the next 2-3 weeks
East Coast, the Cape & R.I. & Conn. sometime mid Sept.
Steelhead in BC late Sept. with the local "Steelie clan" but this one may not go this year due to low (potentially) returns & other closures?
Mostly "hosting" on my home waters the rest of the time!

For me a vac. has allways been local, I never get to any of these exotic places I hear about. For years I wanted to fish Dogfish Bar during the new moon of June. For once everything worked out and I stumbled into a little extra cash. It`s a go, 4 days( and nights) on the Vineyard at Lobsterville over the new moon in June.I`m so pumped I feel I could walk there!
