Awesome, I might even be able to make that one. My usual Thurs PM shift may be handed to co-worker, just in time for winter!

Thanks Jared

I'll be going that night. I've wanted to see him speak for a long time. I have all of his books, and while is writting needs improvement, his artwork is super. His latest project is about fishing for trout along the 42nd parallel around the world. Should make for some interesting stories.

I should be OK as well this time barring anything coming up.

Jared -

Can we just bring stuff and tie or how does it work?

Juro --

It is fairly straightforward...one pays the cover at the door (there is a discount for members) -- and you're in! Doors open at 6:30, tying starts around 7, and the program generally begins at 8:15 or so.

One then has the option of tying with one of the instructors (members receive a newsletter which details who is tying what pattern on a given month, AND a complete recipe for that pattern), or simply tying on your own of course. There are always folks who simply cruise around the hall, hopping from table to table....as there can often be more than one pattern of interest!

Not sure who is coming this month, but there is normally a vendor selling materials & fly fishing "stuff". Additionally, we generally have a book dealer, Ken Anderson, in attendance. And from time-to-time, other vendors -- notably, Dan Trela who is one of the finest rod builders in New England, whom I believe is coming this month.

Board Members/Staff are can usually be found wearing the red UFT hats...

In reading my UFT Newsletter from cover to cover last night I came across an interesting fact. It seems our friend Jared is now the President of UFT. Sorry to blow your humble cover Jared, but I thought I should recognize your commitment to a great organization where I learn to tied my first fly. The UFT should do well under you leadership.

Kudos Jared - keep up the good work!

Well, it's 6:30 and I am still at my desk - won't be able to make the meeting again but there's a long winter ahead to make up for it.

Hope you guys have a great time, wish I could hang out but gotta keep my priorities straight sometime. See you about 36 hours from now on the water.

Jared, congratulations on a great show last night. Jim P. made a great presentation with a lot of information I would never have known about Brown trout in Europe ,Middle east and Asia. He even confided to me that he is thinking of exploring saltwater flyfishing for new writing material... I refered him to CAC if he ever got down to Chatham. I may even try to write a short article entitled "South Beach" for the Yale Angler's Journal.

Go for it John! You've got the time on the water to back you. I'm submitting a piece as well, should finish it this winter easily with time on my hands on the weekends.

Wish I could have attended, but given the choice between spending my credits on the water this weekend it was an easy decision.

Won't have that choice next month... great to have the UFT to look forward to.
