Angry Great virus 'scam!' God, nothing is safe anymore.

The following 'e mail' was on my machine this morning (fortunately Joan had already gotten same and contacted our service provider) ...... looks so real! and it's a major virus looking for a place to live.

Dear user of Mind.net e-mail server gateway,

Our antivirus software has detected a large ammount of viruses outgoing
from your email account, you may use our free anti-virus tool to clean up
your computer software.

Pay attention on attached file.

Have a good day,
The Mind.net team

Anyway, you opend the attachment (the 'free virus scan') and 'Your Toast!

It pays to keep on top of PC viruses.

Get yourself on a mailing list from one of the top anti-v providers.

Trend Micro will send you an e-mail alert way before a virus attacks, I am pretty sure Symantec does the same thing.

It will pay off in the long run.

Cool Ditto on the Mac

I have been using the same Mac i book for about 5 years and it never crashes, never is susceptible to viruses, never needs to be "tweaked" to work with certain programs, etc..etc.. The Mac is the Gold label of computers and everything else is a distant runner up at best

Mark, I've seen that before. :hehe:
Its normally followed by comments on how Adobe makes the best software, no matter what the application, on earth.

While I poke fun at Mac's I feel that if Apple and Microsoft reversed their market shares, the number of viruses writen for each would also reverse. Ditto for Linux & MS.

I couldn't agree with you more. If macs were affordable all the virus writing teenagers would have it big time.

We support 3000 pc's and 200+ macs, so I know the pain....
