Lines

Well thanks to fellow board member Sing I am the proud new owner of a 9wt T&T Vector.

It also happens that I am going to be on the Cape from May 16th - 23rd for a wedding and some fishing Unfortunate I am going to miss my Hawaii trip but I hear you guys have better fishing

Looking through the archives it seems I will at the very least need an intermediate line and most favor the airflo. Will I also need a dredger? If so what do you all reccomend.

For those of you who own this rod I am curious if you are uplining it a size(I usually prefer not to)?

Looking forward to it!

WEBMASTER CLAVE

Mandatory attendance (at least use this as the excuse at home).

Let's show Sean what we're made of out here in striper country!

Sean, the situation will be PRIMO for your introduction to arm wrenching 101 c/o our hot to trot arrivals from Chesapeake and Hudson country.

That cherry little Vector is going back with tattoos after being bent so hard by our thick shouldered Cape Cod stripahz

Sean,

As far as your questions about the line...I think I've cast the Vector and it's a pretty fast rod.

I think you'll want to overline it with the intermediate because you need to load the rod with one or 2 backcasts and shoot on the flats.

You'd probably want to cast the lines first, but a 10wt airflo clear intermediate and a RIO 350 gr. striper line would be a good start.

I'm sure Juro will steer your in the right direction here.

Hope to see you out there

Sean... I have a 7 wt Vector. I will have to check what lines I use for it... I think I did not have to over weight it since I don't have the intermediate of it, and the sinking line I have for it I think is either a 250 or 350....My intermedidiate line is on another 7 wt. which is a mid flex Scott Eclipes. It may be that for the intermediate you may want to use an 8 wt line since the Vector is stiffer than the Scott. I have had these Rods for several years and just can not remember so I will have to check back. I use this weight Rod only in the spring.

Sean, I went to a 10 wgt intermediate on my 9 wgt Vector and it worked out nice. I did this because though the 9 wgt line I had seemed to cast ok it hadn't been used in 2 years and was a bit gummy. As it turns out, I think going up a notch on line wieght serves the Vector well for flats fishing.

Hey, I am going to be at Cape May just a week ro so later for a wedding on the 5th June. Make sureyou save some fish for me.

With all of the stuff I am having to bring over from the UK what with the wedding and fishing, I am trying to find dual use luggage items.

Do you think fishing the surf with a kilt would be too much?
