Saltwater Edge Fly Fair - Newport RI

I always love this event as it's one of those annual events that signals the onset of spring. The event has grown so much that Jenks is moving to the Hyatt on Goat Island, plenty of free parking and a great facility. Congrats Peter, the roster of attendees is amazing.

Scenes from last year:

In particular, I have to call attention to Fishhawk and Adrian's efforts to work with the kids to tie their first flies (the first sequence of photos). You can see the pride in their eyes. We were in their shoes once, and you know how influential that was for them. Kudos guys!

Peter has graciously offered us a table again this year. I will be out of town that week but would love to have a forum presence at this event. Please PM me if you can go on our behalf to tie some flies, teach some kids how to tie like last year, and generally have a great time with some great fellow anglers in Newport.

In any case, I can't say enough how enjoyable this event is and I highly recommend it. It's free to attend as well, check it out.

I plan to be there, but will have to leave before the end (around 2:00) due to a social committment at home that evening.

Pity because the evening sesson looks like a lot of fun too!

I now know that I will definitely be there. Do we need to bring our own vises and materials to help the kids tie, or are these items provided? Either way is fine with me.

Looking forward to it, especially after being sick and missing Marlborough.

I'll be leaving the Hartford area around 8, and depending on weather this should get me there by 9:30.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.
