The Orvis Barstock reel sells for about $150, and I have one that does double duty in fresh and salt nicely. If you take care of it, it will take care of you.

Teton/ Tiog #8 or #10 - $160

Okuma Integrity & spare spool for under $150

Good luck!

Large arbor? Oh, you should have said so in the first place. I'm sure that there are other options out there, but I just received my LLBean flyfishing catalog in the mail yesterday and they have a few that fit your price range.

I'm moving this thread to the Gear Forum so you can get more potential hits there.

You might take a look at Albright also - a new company who are making a splash at the flyfishing shows this year. Their GP model is a L/A and retails for $125. They look to be well made with a nice drag - someone mentioned that they are former Reddington guys.

Like Mark said already, many of the lower priced options will work fine for Saltwater but you must look after them

Old FLorida No.4. $196. Cork Disc Drag just like the Fin-nor, Abels, Islanders and Tibors for 1/3 of the money.

Yeah, just checked myself, and don't see them anymore, sorry to say. People must have scooped them up.

I have been checking for discounted Litespeeds and/or Velocitys. I remember checking there the day before last, not 2 days ago though. I must of just missed out. Anyplace else that may carry them. Everyone seems to be out of the 3.5 and 4 sizes.

Litespeeds were listed in their most recent mailer/catalog. It's likely that they are sold out.
