Flyfishing Resolutions?

Happy New Year All! Thanks for another great year.

My personal resolution list is a mile long, but what are everyone's resolutions for flyfishing in 2004?

1) I want to land at least one of the following on the 1111:

- 40# striper from shore or
- 25# rooster from shore or
- 25# ocean chinook from shore or
- 17# albie from shore or
- 30# small tarpon from shore or
- 20# trevally from shore or

some other great saltwater/coastal gamefish of the world.

2) I want to get my spey instructor certification

3) I want to own Monomoy

I can't imagine a 40 lb. striper on a fly rod...
...especially when I haven't managed a 40 inch one yet.
2004 fishing related resolutions:
40 inch stripah on the fly
Bonito and or albie (still...3 years running) on the fly
Go some place "exotic"
Drag a couple of you guys out onto Joppa in June
Above all....stay out of conflict on all the fishing boards
Happy New Year to everybody!

It's Snowing......

.....Here in the upper 'Lamette, third in a series of storms, about 4-5 inches on the ground at the house. They sent us home early today.......yea, I worked.
We are up to 115 % of snowpack in the N. Cascades as of monday, which is making it look good for all waterways next season.......
So here are three for me;

Branch out the "Backcountry Trips" a bit more than last year
Get my 2 webs up and running
And take time to appreciate all the blessings

...And a Bright New Year to all of you! May you enjoy the tug of many large fish in the morning, the warmth of afternoon sunshine on your face, and the friendship around the fire at night!

Again, my resolution has to be to get an albie on a fly. I was able to put myself in the right situations a few times in 2003, and was actually tight to an albie twice, but both came unbuttoned.

2004 will provide more opportunities, simply because I'm gonna force myself to make more opportunities.

1. Master the Flats , getting closer every year.
2.Use the Yak more.
3.Convert Striper Moonie friends that there are other flies that work beside the Flatwing
4.Fish waters closer to home. Maybe the North Shore, NH. and Southern Me.
5.Land an Albie.
6.Get in CAC and try to keep up with the Ironman on the Flats.

A BBFT on a fly
A new species on a fly - doesn't matter but I think I've got all the easy and readily available ones.
