Humble apology to Capt Stan...

Capt Stan...
It was not my intention to duplicate/rip off your hook- up beauties...I apologize for taking any credit and commend you for your flawless execution! They are really NICE!
I've been fooling around with this style for the last 6 months while keeping pretty much to myself...not surfing other sites and trying to refine the concept...I posted after my return from Harker's Island...pumped that my flys fooled some picky well educated False Albies...I later noticed your flys on ReelTime and ate a great big serving of humble pie. I'm MORTIFIED!!!
I apologize to the good Capt Stan and anyone else who might have been offended by my taking credit when I shouldn't have.
Ignorance is bliss, but no excuse!
I am now stepping down from my soap box and retiring to the bunker where I will probably re-invent the wheel or something really profound!
Thanks...

Pete - you're a true gentleman.

Why don't you post a pic of you're "Slick Willy" fly that amazed Nick & I with it's success.

It's a screamer!

Yuz guyz axed for it!

On top...
The nasty Mr Nick and the Roopmeister have made mention of...
The remaining former "PharSides" have been somewhat modified to depart from the user friendly Capt Stan concept look-alikes.
I've made some subtle changes to make them even more formidable (and blatantly in violation of the Geneva Convention)...

Hey Penguin, lighten up buddy, it's no big deal. I'm glad to see someone else doing such a fantastic job tying these hook up flies and your flies are really great looking. Isn't it amasing how well these flies catch fish with the hook hidden inside the fly rather than hanging out the bottom. I hope you keep tying and posting these great flies. I can tell your just getting warmed up with many new creations to come.

good tying

Capt Stan

Does that mean...

I can step in off the LEDGE?!
Like any honourable Samurai tyer, I was going to fall on my DynaKing but now that would be counter productive...and would void the warranty (something in the fine print about "user abuse")...
Thanks Capt Stan...I REALLY appreciate your kind words!

I really don't see an issue here... Stan's right..Lighten up buddy! The similarity is the inverted hook... both you guys have different material, etc. And don't forget... I need those write ups from BOTH of you in the next two weeks!!!!

Sweet...

Put a swivel clip on the tail on the modified flies so I can attach a 1oz wieght & I'd be all set :hehe:

All kidding aside, I think duplicating the Slick Willy idea as a fly, a surface fly that is a belly profile, would be a great fly.

Roop

PS Isn't that bait rigged upside down?

Roop -- If that type of bait is supposed to be rigged in the same manner as a Slug-Go it is rigged correctly, it's just positioned upside down in the photo.
