blown out rivers and fish

I've been watching the reports and looking at charts for all the rivers in the puget sound, namely the skagit, sauk, and the sky. I was just curious as to the effect this has on the fish that are in those rivers, and to the salmon and the eggs they have already laid.

Floods and Redds

Generally, once spawning fish have left their redds in the protected shallows, any heavy flooding action will cause a shift in the streambed gravel, destroying not just the redds but the eggs inside.
