Latin Proverb

Here is one to live by:

Piscis captivus vinum vult: flumina vivus. (Werner)

"A live fish needs water ; when it is caught, it needs wine."

RE:Latin Proverb

Cool Mike... here's another, albeit not Latin. Well, "albeit" is but the proverb is not:

"Fishing is not so much getting fish, it's a lure for the human soul into refreshment" - Herbert Hoover

Well, not a proverb per se (more latin there) but a quote nonetheless.

Juro

Pardon my sillyness but here's my favorite.

Semper Ubi Sub Ubi

Always wear underwear

RE:Latin Proverb

Here's a latin proverb that I will translet as my saying for this summer.." If the fish are biting, forget meeting the Rip Ridder". (Bring a Tent and bug spray)

Hey Juro, I'm actually Mark, Mike's older and far more distinguished (read as "out of shape") brother.

Another proverb to live by:

Aut bibeat aut abeat. (Cicero)

Either drink or get out.

As a person who makes his living in the beer industry, I can't really argue with Cicero's logic.

RE:Latin Proverb

Sorry, one last quote that I have always enjoyed:

"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."
(Benjamin Franklin)

Good ol' Ben!

It's good to know not all of his statements made the elementary school chalkboards. The rest of his proverbial resume was incredible... "stitch in time", etc.

Can only imagine if he were buddies with Issac. He may have sought a treatise for an angle with a certain Dame though.
