This is something that has to be seen! TV news clip.

If you have a high-speed internet connection and the stomach to see some REAL "unethical" fishermen at work, check-out the following link for a video news-spot that's a true horror story...

easylink.playstream.com/k...agging.wvx

Pulled this off of GusS, so oregon board. "Fishing in SW Washington."

Crap!! and Double Crap.

It's really sad.

That post came about via an interesting ethical dilemma discussion we're trying to sort out over there.

Anyway, since my little hangout is totally non profit and I enjoy contributing here and do visit our sponsors here, I believe it is OK to link to our little embryonic regional board:

Flyfishing Southern Oregon

The dilemma we're trying to get a handle on in a couple threads is about inadvertantly hooking out of season chinook while steelhead fishing...

Fred,

This stuff hapapens all too often, and just like the guy that hid the fish in the rocks, nearly everyone doing the snagging knows that it is poaching and against the law.

Part I liked the best was the clown in the

white tee shirt. Not only a wacking big ticket, but also gets 'whisked off to jail' for other outstanding warrents.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Ah Fred,

He was just a poor "sportsman" trying to feed his family. And if them %&?*# cops would be out looking for real criminals, he would not have been placed in cuffs and hauled off. If I remember correctly, he didn't bother with the trouble of getting a fishing license either. Quality DNA that one.

We have them here, too!

Fred, and anyone else from our area...

A buddy was fishing our beloved Lower TouVelle this weekend, and saw a group of people chasing salmon in to the shallows and then tailing/ taking them. A second time he was coming out alone from LTV and a group of five others were heading out with gear, trebels and worm cans to obviously do no good. When he called them on it, they turned and kept walking, and told him to have a nice day... by the time he was heading over the bridge they were "fishing" the shallows by the slot there. He went to the ranger, who called OSP. He also said they're specifically looking for a guy in a red truck.

We CAN stop this on our river, guys.

Be sure to program this in to your cell, the number goes directly to an OSP dispatch office: ODFW "Turn in Poachers" (T.I.P.) Line: 800-452-7888

.
