RE:Xmas presents?

It was power tools this year, and know I don't mean a rod lathe. The wifes got me busy with a kitchen remodel so Christmas was D.I.Y. city.

I did bag a bobin and hair stacker at the company swap, that was cool (thanks pointing somebody in the right direction Al).

The good news as far as fishing this Christmas was Santa brought my 8yr old daughter a fly rod/reel combo. Just a cheapy starter kit but she sure was phsyched and had used spin equipment to catch a few last Summer. I must say that her taking an interest in fly fishing was probably the best gift anyone could have given me.

RE:Xmas presents?

Well, Santa arrived a bit late when I went to Bears Den this past Thursday and picked up a SW Traveler. Funny how I never appreciated what a rotary can do for your work.....

RE:Xmas presents?

Went down to the Bear's Den Friday to look at vises, leaning towards the SW Traveler, and not much was left. Bob, you beat me to it. The Regal, Abel and Dyna-King Barracuda were pretty to look at, but beyond my price range.

Fred, the SW Traveller is the same price everywhere(I believe, so you can probably pick one up in another shop. or maybe at the show. Tom D

RE:Xmas presents?

Fred,
I agree with Tom that the renzetti's seem to be about the same price everywhere. 179 - 189. It's a big upgrade from my old Griffin 2A. I'm sure the Den would order one in for you and even drop ship it to your house ?!?.

RE:Xmas presents?

Tom, Bob,

Thanks for the feedback. The Bear's Den is local for me and I have a gift certificate to apply. I'm sure Scott will replenish his vise inventory soon.

Regards,
Fred A.
