Anyone up for fishing in the Chatham area on Tuesday?

At Last I finally made it down to the Cape this year. Has there been any action at the break in chatham? I think I am going to try and get out Monday AM. If it is cold enough I will be in my Green Wading Jacket, and Patagonia Waders. Wouldn't mind finding a crew to rip lips with!

BTW what is the mung situation like right now? send me a PM or leave me a VM on my cell if you are up for fisihing on Tuesday. 207.749.4744

Mung situation set in pretty thick, but it was clean Monday. Pete must've landed 30 fish. It could blow out just as quick, keep the fingers crossed. There are some clean spots if you look hard enough and lots of fish on the beach.

My charter today was tough, big surf and mung on the beach and few fish on the flats... until the pea bunker hordes came filter-feeding into the current. They got themselves into a corner where we stood, and cows pounded the bait in 20" water at our feet on the inside.

It was tough even still for the the first-day flycaster in that stiff north wind, but he finally broke the ice with a nice fat fall fish... sighted too. While the meelee lasted many shots went unclaimed as well, some of the fish were in the 38-40" class and they were pushing hard. I could've poked a couple of them in the eye with my 11 ft "pointer".

The new snack foods they are fattening on have them very feisty. The key is to NOT approach the already transitioned striper population in the same manner as you would during the invertebrate phase, that's over (thank God).

Good luck!

Doesn't look to pleasant out there this am. Think I'll give the hip some rest. Typical vacation weather for me.
