10 pound 8 ouncer

Not a fish but my new fishing partner came into the world at 1am August 1st. A real big boy and easily the most awe inspiring event I have ever witnessed.

A sincere congratulations to you and your family buddy!

When my son was born, I worked two jobs and had diaper duty at night. He required two diapers per change - one for a shield!

As he grew older, his trust in me was so true he would stand with his little one-year old feet on my hand as I held him up in the air. Of course his balance was awesome too.

Then as he grew older, his trials and triumphs become ours - although we let him solve them on his own we gave him the best help we could without interfering directly and I'm sure he felt we were always there with him in spirit even when he was in a tough schoolyard situation or a challenging exam.

Although we were petrified the day he drove down the driveway without us, he's managed to do well for himself and maintain himself as a National Honors Society student in high school then made the Dean's list in freshman year in college.

Our fishing time has grown more rare lately, but I have faith that will come back around again as he gets older. He loves to double haul, I think more than fishing itself. In fact the other day we were talking about the new two-handed striper rods out in the yard and he said "what? you can't double haul that thing!". I fired out the whole line with one backcast and said something to the effect of "ah, but you don't need to."

It's 1:25am and he's up viewing downloaded dvd clips from techTV while trying to ressurect the hard drive partitioning he blew up on his computer while configuring for Linux / Windows dual operating systems. A chip off the old block, or at least the old blockhead.

I'd imagine you're getting your sleep in very short segments right about now, so once again I hope Michelle is well and...
CONGRATS DAD!!!
