Talking Swap pictures posted!!!!!!!!!

Go to the steelhead/salmon fly archive and view them. Plus, all swappers can post their recipes and/or names for their flies.

Swap Pictures

SH69

Great job on posting the swap flies. Good photos. Some of the patterns look terrific.

Thanks

I'm slowly getting my digital dialed in. Am slowly changing my settings. Now just need to get a better alternate light to light up the fly for the picture (make it clearer and brighter). Flashes just bleed out all the colors.

But thanks.

Light source vs. Background

I was talking with Wrke and he mentioned using artificial sheepskin as a background. I haven't tried it yet but the concept I think was that light absorbing material in the background, allows for some flexibility in the light source angle, direction, etc.

Tying the pattern is certainly the still the first priority, but that good photo makes a big difference for us copy cats and fans.

I know a lot of us need a bit of instruction on this topic, so I would be interested to hear how you set up for a good photo when you get a few you like....
