7/5 Report

So when do the Patriots start training camp. Did the bank, gas, dump run about 11:00am. Bumper to bumper up and down 134. Why do people like vacationing down here anyhow?

Oh ya, the fish. Found fish way up in the troughs. First one sited and cast to was caught. That bad omen again. Spent the next 2 - 3 hours surrounded by fish with only a couple of more hook-ups. Nearly put my knee to the pole. I think I may be suffering from a bit of fishing fatigue. Between the fishing this morning and all the summer people I'm ready to vacate this sand spit. But not before a marathon session tommorow.

24 / 7 ATM's, 24 / 7 gas, forget the dump Bank, gas up, and fish at night:hehe: I heard on the news that it was especially bad down there this am, although the last five or six years have been brutal. Most major largemouth events have moved off Cape for the summers because no one could get home. :eyecrazy:
I will stay close and hit the Slocum tomorrow

Question Cape Cod Holidaze!...

Traffic jams up for miles and miles to get to the canal bridges...
...rt28 Duncan Donut parking lots are FULLFULLFULL and traffic is backed up in all directions by coffee junkies waiting to turn into the drive-thru for their java-fix...GRIDLOCK!
The beach parking lots are full by 0800...
The restaurant will seat you in about an hour (right!...if you're lucky)...
And you get to stand in line for EVERYTHING!
And then you get to wait in line again to get to the other side of the canal...'better make reservations for next summers stay!
WHAT"S NOT TO LOVE?!

It's like hitting yourself on the head with a hammer...
...'Feels so good when you stop!
"They" leave "refreshed /renewed"...One can only wonder what the rest of their lives are like!?
Road-Rage anyone?!

Ah yes..., summer on the cape as I remember it! I guess that's why folks bbq at home, after waiting in line for 30 minutes at swan river fish market, while someone pick out all the pretty lobsters! Can't wait to get up there in two weeks to stand in line at DD to get my coffee/donut fix at 5:00 am then head out to the surf.
Save some fish for me.
Cheers,
DK

Well, I was going to make a full day of fishing Sunday but with the heat, being pretty much whupped and not wanting to aggravate any repetitive motion damage decided not to. I did attend a great farwell party on rt. 6. I was a bit early though as it was only backed up to Willow St when I arrived.

Fred -

Just out of curiosity, what repetitive motion concerns are you having - elbow perhaps? Or shoulder?

Now major problem yet but my casting arm got a bit weary and my wrist was telling me to take a break. I put away the T&T Tuesday. This is the raffle Vector. It has a petite grip and was really starting to bother me. Since I got the rod for a reasonable price, I'm thinking I might inquire to T&T about having a fatter grip put on this winter.

IN THE MEANWHILE... why don't you find yourself some neoprene cork grip tape, like what's used on surf sticks or golf club grips, and build it up yourself - beats waiting till winter or aggravating your arthritis.

Hey, Juro - Gee, isn't Groton pretty at that time of year!

Gripe on grips

Fred, I was also cursing the cork on my T&T this weekend. Much to slippery. This was not the first time I have cursed cork. I have cursed Loomis cork and Powell cork. As Mr. Fix points out, there are alternatives from the "far side" of fishing that may be much better than cork but not quite as stylish. I especially like the tape that Loomis uses on the surf series spin and casting rods.
