South Beach Bonanza!!!!

Hi Everyone,

I know some of you are considering playing hooky tomorrow 5/20!

If your going to do it, tomorrow is the day, even if it is half as good as today. My way of measuring the fishing in the area is how long it takes for me to show up for work. and find the whole area busting. Well, the themometer broke today! From 0730 till about 1100 the channels and beaches were popping. I swear in some spots there were more fish than water. Even the Captain got 24 fish today. I went through a new bag of white slug-os (taboo, I know) in 45 minutes. Off Morris island, I came across a school of 30"-40" fish, and even landed one 39". The most frustrating thing of all--- trying to get the slug-o to sink past the Twinkies to get to the bottom, where the Big-uns were laying. I was only in 8 ft of water, couldn't decide whether to cast or just jump in and grab em. Once I talked myself out of setting the hook, I was able to get past the twinkies and get to the bottom.

The folks over at South Beach were in fish all day. Some never left the drop off spot and had consistant fishing for the day, mostly schoolies. Largest I heard of was 33" taken on the flats.

Saw Penguin out ther on his boat, so maybe he will chime in about the action today, also.

Those of you that I have spoken with, see you in the morning! For those of you, who can't get a note from Mom to skip work-
SORRY! Don't mean to rub it in.

Capt Keith

Lost count...mostly sm/med stripes but some phat thirtysomething stripes in the mix to keep my attention.

I'm glad that you are having a great time. That must
be why you won't return my calls re booking a run down
to South Monomoy.

Greg..I am not sure what this is about but you should e-mail me. Keith does not take solitary people down to South Monomoy unless you want to foot the $300... He also usually orgainizes the trip though the board here.

I see that there are all twists and turns here.
I called to charter a run for the $300 and was
told I'd be called back. I wasn't. I thought that
Rip Rhyder was a commercial operation; I didn't
realize it wasn't. Does the town/Fed gov't
subsidize it ?

Mr Pavlov,

I will make this clear and simple for you.
I run the ferry to South Beach and Monomoy Island. The South Monomoy Trip is a special trip, that is done with the FlyFishing Forum. This is done, due to the sensitivity of South Monomoy. I do not know how to make it any clearer for you. I will say this, I do not and will not put up with your personal bashing, because you did not get your own way. If you want to go to South Monomoy, I suggest you pay attention to the Forum, because the GENTLEMEN who are on here will probably try to make a couple of trips over the summer. I just hope you don't turn on the people, who put their personal time and effort into setting up the trip, if it gets cancelled due to weather or some other uncontrolable problem.

Capt. Keith Lincoln

South Beach Bonanza

NO PROBLEM Stri, got my fingers crossed for the 31st and the 7th.
I wonder what we could sacrifice to the weather gods for those dates. :hehe:
