Lightbulb Rhoddy Worm Hatch Yak Attack Mini Clave

How about it one afternoon / evening this week-end at Ninigret pond?

Saturday, Sunday, Monday?

Weather is forecast to suck so crowds should not be a problem.

Could launch at Charlestown breachway or beach and paddle up to the top of the pond. Just make sure to bring CG approved light - its hard to see a kayak at dusk from a power boat

Come and fish the Worm Hatch and "get educated"

Adrian,
I'll definitely be around, not sure what my plans are for the weekend. It looks like they won't be including "get tan on the beach" wo we'll see.

Nick

I am going to hit Ninigret again over the weekend. I'll probably take whichever day looks to be the 'wormiest', maybe even two days. I'll be launching from the Ocean House Marina and will be paddling a yellow Loon 138 or a tandem red 16' yak with a kid. Paddle over and say hi if you see me... Brian

Can't believe there aren't more people jumping all over this - probably something to do with stripers jumping all over sand-eels at Chatham I just hope is still that good in three weeks time when I get up there

I will make the drive up to Ninigret Sunday afternoon and probably launch from Charlestown Breachway. Then make my way up into the pond towards Town Dock checking out various spots on the way. Ocean House is a closer launch spot to the recent action but its a bit tight space wise and the hatch could occur any-place in between. Any other nearby launch spots?

I'll be paddling a blue WS Tarpon sit-on-top. Hope to see one or two of you out there.

Adrian -

Don't think I haven't been thinking a lot about trying to make it! We have an extended family weekend on the Cape every Memorial Day weekend.

My wife has to twist my arm to go stay on the cape for a few days

Will the worm hatch still be active next week?

From what I understand and read it runs pretty much through June most years so next week-end sould be good too.

I'm hoping we will see some worm hatch activity down here a bit closer to home once the estuaries and LI sound get up into the 60s F but the consistency of the Rhoddy hatches seems to be what makes that area special.

Adrian, I`ll probably be there with my tin boat. Can`t see driving all the way to the Cape in a cold east wind driven rain. Can`t ya tell I`m on vacation, six straight days of rain.Oh by the way, finally thought up a name for the boat," Can`t Anchor Us" get it, say it fast, I`ve been called that! What time do you figure to arrive ?
Look familiar?

I'll probably try to arrive there mid-day (ish) - no point in rushing around since most of the action will be late afternoon / evening.

Luv the boat name - cool pic too!

Depends on weather & water temps.

Has anyone been out lately?

We need water temp 60F+ then the worms should hatch especially on the new moon tides.
