Ohio River Fly Fishing Report

Hey gang,

Went fly fishing on the Ohio River yesterday out of our boat and had a decent day. 15 fish total. Caught the biggest Smallmouth of my life which was guesstimated at around 3lbs.. Many White Bass, Freshwater Stripers, and even one Sauger. All in all a good day just and just a warm up for the "mock spawn" of the Hybrid Stripers that will be heading up the river in the next few weeks. I'll post some pics of the smallmouth later!

I've heard good things about the spawn of the white bass and hybrid stripers......you're lucky to have access!

Have fun, and congrats on the great smallie.

Nice report! What were you using for flies? (Unless it's a secret )

I was using a deceiver pattern with a lot of flash in it to mimic the local shad that's in the river. You just cruise around in the boat until you see about 100 shad jumping out of the water where a fish is chasing them and then you throw right in the middle of them.
