20 Pound Brown???

REALITY CHECK !!!! Well, yes, there are a few. But remember - fishing is a game of chance! There is not one hiding behind every rock. Just remember - it took me over 60 years of fishing to get one!

(Oh, yeah, another requirement .... you also have to be able to LAND 'em, too!)

Yeah, there are a lot of big browns in Lake O., and they are fun to catch during the trib runs. But 20 lb trout are the exception, not the rule. The fishing is great, but he was "the fish of a lifetime!" At least for me.

Richards has never played Lincoln Way they are twice the size of our enrollment in the highest IL class - 8A. We never will play them but we would if we could. We regularly played larger schools like Bolingbrook, Sandburg, Thornton, Thornwood, Hubbard, Dunbar, Simeon etc. up until six years ago in pre -conference play when they reorganized the SICA conferences. Richards always was competitive and most times beat those teams.

Richards is in 6a under the new 8 class IL HS system.

Providence is a big rival if we could recruit like they do from a large geographical area and have 60 kids varsity instead of 30-40 we could play with them. In last four years we are 2 and 2 in state playoffs with catholic schools in the state playoffs. Have beaten Carmel and Marion Catholic lost to Providence twice. Catholic schools and many other public schools will not play us in a pre-conference early season game. They don't want to risk a loss.

Below is the link to the Richards football site. Some impressive tradition and stats. The varsity is going to be good again this year with their DIV 1 QB and tail back. If you look at the freshman team page, in the team picture my son (Ross Eckert) is in the 3rd row from the bottom, 4th player in from the left side of the picture.

Football camp starts in June, can't wait !

We used to beat up one Richards when I played for Marian.

Its a long way from JV H.S. to varsity College.
