Here's another one. Man I can't wait to swim these babies this weekend! I'm also sending CND's Nobuo Nodera a couple to entice some Dee Atlantics with Per Stadigh.

Are those 4-5 inches long?

Thats what my eyes are telling me.

Don't think I have anything over 3-4 inches max.

OOOOOOOOOOeeeeeeeee

Go Kush........Let us know how they work.....I can only imagine the grabs you're gonna get with those buggers.

Better strap yourself to a rock when you chuck one of those into a mess of steelies

Where did you find the nice purple pheasant tail?

Jake,

It is not pheasant tail, I substituted it for the Guinea that sits in front of the pheasant. It is marketed as a "Spey"hackle and it is likely goose. I am going to dye up some tails myself, as it is hard to find aot of colours. I have some cool Amhearst and Silver Pheasant tails that I'm going to play with as well.

Gotta say I really like the looks of the last batch...very fishy looking, and will no doubt swim nicely.

What Hobbie shop are you using for you supply of Golden Rod?

By the way....I have found a supplier of 3mm Graphite tubes !!!!
Pretty pricey stuff though runs at about 80 cents an INCH !!!!

Think I will stick to something cheaper.

Jake,

I don't use golden rod, my tubes are air brake line, Dana gets it at an auto supply place, by the foot and cheap!

Kush,

You are having too much fun tying these things. Soon you'll start having the problem of having tied too many flies for your own fishing and then you'll start.......... Well, those of us who enjoy tying a well tied fly know what will start happening.

Be careful, dying materials yourself is addictive. Soon you'll have 15 or more different colors of acid dye lying around the house. And you'll find yourself dying materials on the kitchen stove when your spouse wants to use the stove and sink for some other purpose.

I still can't bring myself to fishing with something that large and give up my beloved spey, dee, full dressed featherwings, Ally's Shrimps, and G.P.'s though.
