Smile thank you!

Last night the shrimp flies that were a raffle prize at Wilmington arrived.

At the show I pointed out a couple of the Forum members I recognized either from previous introductions or pictures on the website to my wife, but tried to keep out of the way of "recruiters" as I am already "a believer". When Adrian collared me I gladly made what I intended to be a donation. I really hadn't taken a good look at the prizes.

With the shrimp flies in hand, I'm impressed! Nice work! I'm looking forward to putting them into the water, but if this rotten weather in the Northeast continues I may be playing with them in the bathtub in May!

Being almost embarrased by my good luck, I've put another check in the mailbox for the FORUM. Last year I didn't get on the water much, but I certainly valued following the exploits of those who did. You guys make a difference.

Thanks.

Wow, gordonh, glad to hear you like the flies so much. While I didn't add or recieve any flies at this show, I won a shadowbox from the earlier Wilmington show, and they are amazing as well.

thanks for the support of the site as well! Every bit helps!

If those amazing shrimp flies were damp, it wasn't because they were fished but it may have been the tears from those of us who worked the booth as they were packaged to be sent away.

At least they went to a good home! Congrats Gordon!

Gordon and Nick, I totally agree with the both of you....this site and the people from it that I have met on the water have been nothing but great! So happy that Pete Gray told me of the site one day on South Beach. Have learned a lot, met great people. I was new to salt water fly fishing last Spring and can count on both hands the people I have met fishing that have lent advice, shared flies, gave me tips and best of all great conversation. At the end of the season, when I had a clue of what I was doing, it was nice to see another newbe and share what little I knew to assist.
I am now totally addicted to this sport and am chomping at the bit to get out. And oh yes....I too received my prize yesterday in the mail :-)
Planning to try Rhode Island for an early start late next week...they may not have arrived yet.....but I need to at least be out on the water.
See you guys on the flats soon.
Ron
