Fly Swap #3

I know we are getting close to fishing time so I wanted to get a head count on who would be interested in a final fly swap which I had mentioned back at the beginning of the winter... This would be our official final swap of the year...unless of course others want more... The "Theme" of this swap is only "original" flies.... Any type of fly so long as it is considered original by the tyer... no copies... but copying technique is obviously ok.... and not a familar fly in just another color...you know the drill..... So... just sign up here on this thread if interested... it would be 6 flies again so really the minimum number of participants should be 6 with the maximum unlimited. The flies would be due to me for distribution by the end of May. I have some from Slinger already... but just let me know if everybody is sick of tying.

Hi John, just wondering do these originals have to be tested or can they be ideas from this past winter?
I've got an idea for a crab.

Ashley... the fly does not have to be tested... and John , welcome.. I will wait and see who else signs up... Ashley... Most all flies work anyway..probably 90% of them so I am sure it will work anyway.

O.K. I'm in - this one sounds like fun - now will it be silli-skin flounders, AWACS crabs or floating clam worms?

And now for something completely different......

I'm in for this one.

These will be my first flies tied on my own. I already have an idea for a crab fly that I mentioned to Roop and JimW at Jim's tying clave. We'll see if it works.

John, any insights on sites or books where I can see detailed photos of crabs so I can model mine realistically?

I would love to participate. I'm afraid that none of my patterns are original (I've borrowed something with every pattern I've tied). Count me in if I can 'cheat' a little.

Broche, Everyones in so don't worry...new tyers are exempt from total original...just a little original... Doogue, I think a real good book to see crabs is the "National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Seashore Creatures"... great book in general and readily available in most bookstores.

Bunker Pattern

John, I've developed a bunker pattern that seemed to work well last fall. While it is probably not totally original (I'm not terribly creative) I think it has a few unique characteristics to qualify for this swap.
