It could be worse....

Friday and saturday look kind of crummy. Hopefully the gusting and thunderstorms will be short lived.

Sunday looks better wind and wave wise and Monday looks like a good day to call in sick :lildevl:

Hope to see you guys this weekend.

Greg.

Hi John,

Saturday is calling for some bigger waves and wind gusts now. Surf fishing may be where it's at on Saturday.

It looks right now like Penguin and I may shoot for Sunday fishing???? Greg... are the jetties..or where guys surf fish... able to do so with that kind of wind coming from the SW??? Can you be positioned to have the wind work for you. I consider myself above average caster...but casting into the teeth of a 30 MPH wind is not easy... even with the wind casting technique...or effective, unless distance does not matter where we would be at...

Just got back in town

John,
I ended up bailing this afternoon do to the long drive and chance of harsh weather. Although the winds have been stiff and the seas not so friendly there are clouds and clouds of bunker around the jetties. Last night Jeff and I hit the night bite w/ low winds and blitzes gallore. No huge fish.... but beautiful blitzes(Stripers and Blues no bones to speak of yet). This morning guys form our group were out on the east jetti and had blitzes where the theirs a break. ... We were left to watch from the west jetti where there was no action at all. To answer your Q about the casting. Even w/ 20-30 knot gusts, the jetti provide a good casting platform and you could definately reach fish and be effective. Sunday looks like it is shaping up to be good when the wind turns around to the North.

I am anxious to here how Juro and Crew did this afternoon out on the East Jetti.... and to hear if the Clave Power kept the Thunderstorms away and the campers dry.
