I just saw one of the most amazing things I've ever seen on TV- I was watching this show on the National Geographic channel, when they had a segment where this guy hooked and brought to boat a 7.5 ft long, 385 pound lemon shark- WITH A FLY ROD!!! According to the program, it was the largest fish ever taken on a fly rod...OMG...:Eyecrazy:

in the bahamas and florida it is not unusual to catch shark up to 150lbs and i once cought a 180lb bull shark on an 11 wt xi2 in florida bay, but 385lbs, WOW!!!!!!
They were targetting the big lemon sharks intentionally- they even had the boat fitted out with a specially designed live well large enough to hold the beast- once they got it in the live well, they raced back to Key West to have it measured and weighed, then they released it back into the water....the ultimate in catch and release!:smokin:
