Amazing isn't it? How we can destroy something so amazing. The Northwest is trying to follow in our footsteps. When I go home I always find myself telling people to just look to the NorthEast and learn from our mistakes.
It's a very impressive river with countless tributaries stretching all the way to the Canadian border, many of which are still prime spawning habitat (Vermont, Northwestern New Hampshire, Western Massachusetts, northern Connecticut - but all of which are unreachable due to DAMNS strewn from the mouth to the headwaters.
Eric I think from the perspective of anadramous species it's among if not the most tragic example of man's ignorance in the history of the United States.
