But I think the fish are safe. Funny, but I seem to hear that said about me whenever I'm around the river.
Below is a pic of a cohort of mine taken when we were doing a steelhead count for the Alaska Dept. of Fish & Game. It is truly amazing how close they'll let you aprroach them as you float by downstream.
I hope this means you found your camera. I will be heading out of Juan De Fuca for Sitka on Saturday. What was that line out of the spy movie Telephone," Many miles to go before I sleep"? I never whine about anything as much as the 900 miles to sitka at 7.5 knots.
The late counts down here were very good,there are still unspawned female winter runs at the Redd Sites.
Tired you say? That was a prime example of summer run Skykomish hatchery steel. The last picture ever taken of this salmonid as it had a date with the grill.
