Does anyone out there have any recommendations for insoles that work well in wading boots? I recently got a new pair of wading boots that seem to run large. I'm thinking of adding some sort of insole to them so that they'll fit a little more snugly. As it is now, the tips of the eyelets are almost touching.
There are quality orthopedic inserts out there if you don't mind springing for $20-30...
or...
Some old stock sneaker/running shoe inserts will take up some of the extra space...
and...
There are micro-fibre (I've got some flat seam fitted socks called STORMKLOTH) and neopreme socks that will fill the void like stocking foot waders...
"NRS" sells "expedition WetSocks" "wetsocks" and "hydroskin socks"...
I used some "SealSkinz" socks while in Alaska and they were excellent...
Be sure they fit right (you don't want a bunch of lumps under your toes) and insist on FLAT SEAMS!!!
Any good outfitter should carry what you are looking for.
Happy wading...Watch out for the BEARS!
