Hi all I just wanted to say I love this site. very helpfull. went fishing on the deschutes last weekend and caught my first carp about 19 inches. took a fly that i tied up after seeing it on this site. dang it was fun. anyways thanks for such a great place to read.
Thats great. I remember seeing big carp (maybe 20 lb +) on the Deschutes while I was steelhead fishing last fall just below moody rapids. Also the ponds next to the highway along the Columbia just down stream of the Deschutes have quite a few big fish. Ill bet there are some monsters in the Columbia. I am an avid Carp flyfhisher, though I mostly fish for them in still waters. I can just imagine getting a big one in moving water. Check your backing. Hang on.
