Waterproofing Flies

I am new to fly fishing and have a question about the flies. I bought a few flies from Bass Pro. I do not know the name of the flies, but the guy said they were his favorite flies. I have one popper, two crickets, two bugs, and three fish. I am going to use the popper, crickets, and bugs for bream, and the fish for bass. I have read that you should waterproof your flies. Which flies should I waterproof? can I just use a waterproofing spray? Thanks

I generally don't waterproof my flies. Not even the hair bass bugs. Occasionally I'll work a little "Frog's Fanny" into a hair bass bug, but that is about it.

Only if you want to make it smell really bad and drive away the fish.
