Freshwater Dorado

I have a trip planned to Northern Argentina next March and we are planning to fish for Dorado in the Ibera marsh.
I have tried to find suggested patterns for this area but most of the dorado flies I have come across online seem to be designed for the big rivers (e.g. the Parana) where you need a big, dark fly that moves water & shows up in somewhat coloured water. The Ibera, from what I have read, is very clear and the big, dark flies don't look right to me.
Is there anyone out there who has fished the area and can give me suggestions as to fly patterns (or any other advice)? We are using local guides but not going with one of the big outfitters as we have friends who live there.
Michael.
