I'm pretty sure I saw a couple two weeks ago so my answer is they are here now but just not in great numbers. Of course the here part is subjective as these fish weren't anywhere near a shoreline. I agree with Jim that they should be in the offshore locales anyday in fishable numbers but for the shorebound crowd I think we have a couple weeks to go and need some more bait to move in at least in the spots I know.
I am pretty sure I saw one splashing through the canal a few weeks ago....My guess for the Mass/RI border and catchable fish is July 27th because I have to be at work that day...I want to get one of the Oceanic variety this year though...If we can only keep the BFT out of here I may have a shot:devil:
I like Wednesdays or Thursdays...they start to eat again after the weekend forays.
Size 1 or 2 hook,,,,put a little super glue on the "tail rope" of mono thread on the body tubing...trial versions available at our sponsor the Saltwater Edge.
I was planning on using a gold flash core inside a more transparent or neutral material verses the full out gold flash for that wiggle tail, but I love the concept.
