The House Forest and Forest Health Subcommittee of the Resources Committee will hold a hearing on Wednesday (9-29) to consider H.R.2397, sponsord by Rep. Brian Baird of Washington State.
The bill would designate an additional 20 miles of the White Salmon River in Washington State as part of the National Wild and Scenic River System. This 20 mile stretch lies wholey on Forest Service land.
This status is based on it's free flowing condition, scenic, hydrologic, geologic, and wildlife values!
The meeting will be held at 2 pm.
