Dye for bucktails

I'm coming into a few "fresh" bucktails (thanks to some hunting relatives in Maine) and was thinking about dying them.

Any advice on what dye to use? I'd heard that one particular one (Rit?) fades rather quickly when used in saltwater. Also, any of the Emass types on this board know where dyes can be purchased locally?

Any and all advice appreciated.

Thanks!
