The squid have made the yearly showing along Nantucket sound ,I started to hear reports of them starting to show Friday ,I had a comfirmation Saturday when a neighbor showed up at the house with a plastic tub full of them,he was out running the kinks out of his outboard when he ran into a large school of them, and as luck would have it he just happened to have a rod and squid jig with him :hihi They were all in the 16-20 in. size. The big spawning girls should be off the spawning grounds and making their way to us soon. :chuckle:
Time to tie up some montro squid for the Atlantis... BTW the new lines for 2005 are really something! I have some favorite spots where a good long cast from shore puts the angler right into the evening inshore squid drive.
I've got an order in at bears den for the airflo beach line ,I heard reports of some problems with the first shipment, can't wait to try em out.I spent the month of March tying squid flies ,I' m ready.
Yeah that's a real shame Adrian. Just a little less pressure on the stripers- and I mean a LITTLE less.
