At our last Trout Unlimited meeting, the chapter president introduced a new rod manufacturer: wildwater <edited> The idea behind this company is that higher end fly rods are rediculously expensive, so he contacted some chinese manufacturer's to make a series of freshwater and saltwater rods using his own specs. I noticed the rods are constructed with IM8 graphite. The rods are reasonablly priced just under $150 and come with a lifetime warranty. Has anyone else heard about this company? And what about the IM8 graphite?

Yes...I believe he would. He is trying to get his business venture off the ground. I cast the 4 wt inside and liked its feel. How it will perform where it counts, I don't know. The rod's fit and finish was very good and at that price it is hard to beat. I think he would appreciate the exposure that this forum can offer.
