This is a neat little fly I tie for warm water lakes and ponds. It's super durable and easy to tie. If you don't break it off it can last you all day!
Hook to match the size minnow you want.
Thread: Mono
Bead Chain Eyes
Flash material tied in at eye of hook and extending back to form tail.
Body (belly) is maid up of strips of momo (heavy) laid out long ways and then coated with epoxy.

Thanks, I forgot to say to cut the mono to form a taper for the belly (long to short). You can also use a little color on the inside to create a look of a stomach.
I've seen patterns simular to this in pictures using flex tubing to form the shape of the fly. I liked the look but wanted someting a little more durrable, so I came up with this idea. I'm sure it's been done in the past, but I just like the way the mono thread and body material seem to disapear with the application of epoxy.
