I've been fly fishing for 14 years now and I don't think I really opened my eyes to all the possibilites of the sport until @ 4 years ago.
What fish can't be caught with a fly rod? Why would you want to try any other way?
I am lucky to live 35 miles south of Boston in an area that gives me saltwater access, trout pond access, trout river access, warmwater species... nirvana.
My wife started fly rodding last year for trout, she wants to hit the salt this year. My 2 daughters (5&3) are forces to be reckoned with when they are armed with their little spin rods, bobbers & worms. I promised my 5 YO she can start with a fly rod this spring for bass & panfish (BIG SMILE)
Next goal: become addicted to steelhead & salmon.
