Humans have become so successful in this civilization that some have lost sight of truths and essences of life.
Just open a newspaper and read about the heinous acts that humans are capable of and we know it's so.
Poisoning the innocent mind in this manner should be as illegal as it is morally offensive.
How idiotic to be so focused on speculative nerve-stimuli in the lips of fish (their 'feelings') while entire races of fish vanish beneath the human steamroller that includes these confused vegetarians who are benefiting from millenia of their forefathers who hunted so they could be so comfortable as to eat selectively and strategize about campaigning negatively about fish feelings to children.
In nature fish eat frogs, fish eat fish, birds eat fish, fish eat birds, birds eat birds, coyotes eat birds... in fact fish eat humans. Are we of this earth and part of nature or are we lost humans? I would wonder how PETA activists would feel about taking a long swim on an Australian reef and talk 'feelings' with the fish that appear.
I for one fully acknowledge that I am part of nature's system and nothing gets me there like fishing.
PETA doesn't want to acknowledge that outdoorsmen like fishers and hunters do more to protect their target species and relevant ecosystems than anyone else. Also, any PETA member who has ever taken a prescription drug is a complete hypocrite because at some point that drug was tested on animals for safety.
My kid will have a head on her shoulders, and will be able to make sound decisions on her own, based on their own merit. This PETA hogwash has to go.
PETA is so screwed up. They've gone more and more over the top as the years have passed. They lose the respect of people who might otherwise support them by doing this.
I've spoken with the folks at Mass DFW about an open season on PETA activists....recommended it be bowhunting only, as you really want to see the look on their face before releasing that arrow the way the Native Americans used to....love to see the PETA nuts go up against the Native American groups...the latter would eat the PETA people for breakfast.....

Good points...perhaps we should allow ALL bacteria... and other life forms that can kill us to be left unattendend... that is just a point of view, Albert Schwitcher(sp) would not kill a bug...... But PETA is ill informed and more importantly never understood the great philospphers that have formed our thinking since the birth of Christ... Understand History and you will know all!.
As far as philosophy and fishing/hunting, I think the Native Americans hit the nail right on the head. They caught/killed only what they needed, and made use of the WHOLE animal, not just the meat or hide. Many times they would say a prayer for the spirit of the animal, thanking it for giving its life so that the hunter's family and tribe could survive and stay warm. Can't get more righteous than that. And yet the PETA fanatics would label them all as "demons"...go figure!

When will sportmen ignore them? Then there will be NO ONE paying attention to these idiots.
Just because they talk crazy doesn't mean that anyone, who has any influence, is paying any attention. How many years have they been creating press releases and media events and buying advertisments in this country? And have they moved this country even an in towards their ideals? No.
When someone I respect or fear quotes PETA, I will pay attention, untill then, I have a million more impotant things on my mind.
There is no doubt that Americans participate less in blood sports than in the past, but I think that this has more to do with urbanization and the fact that parents spend less time with their kids. Want to curb this trend: Take a kid fishing and share your love and passion. Then nothing that PETA says will make sense to them. If we didn't take them out, we have no one but our selves to blaim.
Compare how many posts and threads we have on the FORUM about PETA vs. taking kids fishing. I think that sums up why less people hunt and fish, and it seems as if PETA has any traction (which they don't).
And to any one that took a kid fishing or hunting last year, thank you for sharing the love. If you didn't, it is easier to worry about PETA
Well actually... we have a ton of posts about taking kids fishing for instance we're responsible for creating the Big Brother Day, an annual event - not to mention the informal outings too numerous to name many of which don't make it to a post.
I would have to say far outnumbering PETA rebuttals.
But I get your point just the same, perhaps in terms of anglers overall verses the FORUM perhaps. I may not agree necessarily that ignoring propaganda that is purposely directed at children is thebest policy, but I see your point that anglers should act proactively rather than react.
To your point I am that much more proud to be part of the Big Brother Day.

Couldn't agree more. The native american philosophy was about as good as it gets. Ascribing a spirit to the animal shows how much respect they had for their fellow beings.
