I was out there last week and I'm going to be out there the first week of August. But I'm not sure when my other trips can be. Given the slow fishing, it is a decent bet that the quota will last a little longer. Last year by the first week of the season there were piles of silvers around. I didn't see a single silver or humpie at the dock when I was there. We landed few salmon until we ran out to swiftsure the last day - see my quick neah report.
Bob and I are thinking about heading out there next week pending word from another friend who is there right now.
Sorry about the pinch it puts on the airline travelers, but I'm keen to see what happens in the next couple of weeks...
I know that doublespey is itching to get his minty fresh evil jet sled salty. What's he got to say for himself?
Oh crap! The poll was set up as multiple choice, but you only get one chance to make a multiple choice. I meant to vote for a few dates but once you say 'vote' whatever you had picked is it.
As usual, I will go through much pain to have the best possible time. Although that first weekend in Sept would be ideal I am going to try best I can to make it out on the date that works for the gang.
Keep us informed per the report from your friend. I am starting to think it's going to be better later this year. After the many years I had fished the Neah Bay and Sekiu fisheries in July to hear that there were no silvers or humpies at the docks in mid-July could be a sign and those kings are deep-trolled.
I can't do the original dates since I have just agreed to a family commitment. It's not easy to let a daughter down especially mine
The early date sounds good but I have a feeling the later dates are going to produce the best fishing. The risk of the later dates is the quota.
Maybe Sept is too late but any interest in the 26th-28th of August?
Headed of on a trout trip for the week ( poor me) . I will be trying to position my camp at The Cape in Neah Bay by Mid week say 3 August. I have purchased a new 50HP Honda for the old Lund and they promise me it will be ready by the 2nd of August (like the check is in the mail).
After listening to two strokes for the last 50+ years it is sure going to be nice not listening to anything :hihi:
