Hook: TMC 2487 G (gold emerger) Size 14
Thread: Caramel 8/0 Unithread
Tail: Comparadun Deer (only 4 or 5 strands)
Body: Hares Ear Dubbing
Wings: Natural Grey Goose Feather
Hackle: - none -

Tie in a copper wire. Wrap from just behind head to just past where point of hook is parallel with shank.

Lay thread base over copper wire.

Tie in tail at end. (2-3 CM in length)

Move forward with thread towards head laying dubbing. Be very generous in the center.

Tie in wings at head.

Wings will stand up due to shape of hook. After tying off head, lay thread across belly. Hold in place and tie around body making sure to secure the wings down.

Use the same technique to get thread back to head. Tie off again and add head cement. Layer a very light amount over wings to give an extra streinght and gloss.

*as you fish this fly, part of the wing will come out of the wrapping. Gives a nice antennae look I didn't expect. You may want to do this when tying or just let nature take its course. I have not had one stay alltogether yet.

Have had luck with it in clear ponds fished near the bottom and floating at a mid depth. Especially as it comes back to the surface.
